Cooking Suggestions
-
Preparation: Remove the thin membrane (silver skin) from the bone side of the ribs before seasoning to allow for maximum tenderness and flavor penetration.
-
Low & Slow Oven Roast: Apply your preferred dry rub, then wrap the ribs tightly in heavy-duty aluminum foil. Bake at 275°F for 2.5 to 3 hours until the meat begins to pull back from the bone. Unwrap and finish on a hot grill or under the broiler for 5-10 minutes to caramelize the crust.
-
Classic Smoked (3-2-1 Method): Smoke at 225°F for 3 hours unwrapped. Wrap tightly in foil with a splash of apple cider or broth and smoke for 2 more hours. Unwrap, brush with sauce, and smoke for 1 final hour to set the glaze.
-
Braised: Sear the ribs in a Dutch oven until browned. Add a braising liquid of broth, aromatics, and a splash of apple cider vinegar. Cover and bake at 300°F for 2 to 2.5 hours until fall-off-the-bone tender.
